The Prayer of Saint Francis
성 프란시스의 기도
"O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
오 주님, 나를 평화의 도구로 써주소서
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
미움이 있는 곳에 나로 사랑을 뿌리게 하소서
Where there is injury, pardon
상처가 있는 곳에 용서를 뿌리게 하시고,
Where there is discord, harmony
불화가 있는 곳에 조화를,
Where there is doubt, faith
의심이 있는 곳에 믿음을,
Where there is despair, hope;
절망이 있는 곳에 희망을,
Where there is darkness, light, and
어둠이 있는 곳에 빛을, 그리고
Where there is sorrow, joy.
슬픔이 있는 곳에 기쁨을 뿌리게 하소서
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
오 주님, 내가 위로하기보다 위로받으려 하지 않게 하소서
to be understood as to understand;
이해하기 보다 이해받으려 하지 않게 하소서
to be loved as to love;
사랑하기보다 사랑받으려 하지 않게 하소서
for it is in giving that we receive;
주는 것으로 받을 수 있기 때문입니다
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
용서하는 것으로 용서받을 수 있기 때문입니다
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
죽는 것으로 영원한 생명으로
다시 태어날 수 있기 때문입니다."
